After being forced to spend Friday night at the Vancouver Days Inn, I tried to check in at the Hyatt the next day, only to learn that they overbooked the hotel and I was going to be bumped again.
They offered to put me up in a hotel across the street, the Fairmont. Not knowing the Fairmont, I was worried that it would be a step down. But I was wrong.
Putting me there must have cost the Hyatt a few bucks. I’m so jaded by the poor service offered by most companies that I am amazed whenever a company goes above and beyond like this. Cheers to the Hyatt for upgrading me — even though the Fairmont was better!
